You choose the area, the itinerary, the level of difficulty and the timing. All “a la carte” and personalized to the needs of your group, whether you plan a half day or a 3 days adventure, we will be happy to lead your convoy in uncharted land and explore the magic of the Empty Quarter (most beautiful Desert of the World).

Our Marshal (Karim) and his team have extensive experience and knowledge about the whole region (more than 30 years) and will be assisting your convoy throughout the journey with all the necessary logistics (Off Road recovery, first aid, Radio communication, Mobile coverage, Camping advice, Catering services, etc,)

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

  • Residents with their own 4×4 and/or rented 4×4 from us (with off road insurance)
  • All participants should have an average Desert Driving experience (between 30-50 hours)
  • Should you not feel confident about your driving skills we can arrange a driving course to help you brush your skills

SIZE AND NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS?

  • Due to the nature of the landscape and the importance of safety in such ventures, we advise a maximum number of 6 cars per group. This will allow our Marshal to control the rhythm of the convoy and provide quick recovery, saving time and effort.

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

  • Expert Off-Road instructors leading the convoys
  • Two-way communication gear for each participant
  • GPS and first aid trained instructors well versed with all the emergency procedures.
  • Camping as well as catering facilities can be provided at additional fees

WHEN AND WHERE?

The area we cover is the Western region of Abu Dhabi emirate called “Al Gharbia” and it extends for some 30-40,000 Square km. The main routes cover the following:

  • Al Ain to Liwa
  • Qasr AL Sarab (Hameem)
  • Medinat Zayed
  • Arada
  • Ghayathi

HOW LONG?

  You may book a 3 hours’ short fun drive and up to 3 days covering some 6-700 km.

 HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

As you can see from the above table we have a one-time fee covering the cost of the Marshal and additional fee per participating car.

 WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?

  • All related repairs/costs due to:
  • Mechanical faults
  • Electrical faults
  • Car body damages
  • Towing of vehicle to a garage in case of a total breakdown

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Above rates are applicable from September 1st until May 30th
  • Reservations will be confirmed upon the receipt of full advanced payment 2-3 weeks prior to tour date
  • Once payments are received we will not be able to make refunds for changes & cancellations
    • We accept cash payments only incl. (foreign & local currencies)
  • Rub Alkhali Desert tourism LLC reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any tour prior to departure due to factors beyond it’s control, such as weather conditions, sickness, strikes, disputes, and other events of force majeure. In such cases, a refund or partial refund may be given at the discretion of the organizer and/or the operator of the tour.

LIABILITIES & SAFETY GUIDELINES 

  • All participants agree they are joining this trip on their own risk and understand that this type of activity is adventurous in nature and involves some risks
  • All participants must understand that our Marshal will lead the convoy in secluded, uncharted and unpaved tracks which are not covered by civil services (ambulance, fire and other natural hazards)
  • It should be understood that participants of such event have a reasonable off road driving experience and know basic recovery techniques
  • Rub Alkhali Desert tourism LLC and its personnel and whosoever represent them are not liable for any accidents, breakdowns, damages and/or personal injuries.
  • Our guide will be in charge of leading the convoy and it is absolutely important to follow his instructions at all times.
  • In case of breakdowns or accidents our guide will assist in recovering the vehicle to the next available road. Should the vehicle be un-towable and/or badly damaged, our guide will assist in arranging to transport a Mechanic to the desert location.
  • Please bear in mind that all costs resulting from hiring a mechanic and buying spare parts as well as all related transportation costs must be paid separately.
  • It is the sole responsibility of the parents to instruct their children about safety guidelines and to always follow the instructions of our guide
  • All drivers may be required to sign our disclaimer form prior to participating in our adventure
  • CHILDREN are advised to keep away from front and rear of vehicles throughout the journey!
  • Campers are advised to wear closed shoes when wandering in the dark especially CHILDREN!!
  • Never step out of your vehicles without engaging the parking gear (for automatic) or pulling the hand brake tightly!! ESPECIALLY ON SLOPES!

4×4 requirements – Must Have!

  • Your 4×4 should be recently serviced at your garage ( last 1000 km)
  • Full tank (fuel)
  • Spare wheel must be in immaculate condition
  • Spare tools should be complete
  • Car manual must be available
  • Valid off-road insurance (very important!!!)
  • Car registration and valid UAE driving license
  • Mobile phone – (charged and in good working condition)
  • Tyre pressure gauge
  • Water (min. 2 liters per person)
